Winter Track Club updates: Kudos to those athletes who are attending regularly…..we notice!
We’ve completed almost 7 weeks of training and 3 indoor meets so far. Training plans for the rest of the winter season will be emailed out this weekend, as our weather gets a little trickier for the remaining 6 weeks. Here are some highlights of our last meet:
1. AJ Hurlburt once again won and broke his own school record, now at 14-0, which is a provisional indoor state qualifying mark for pole vault!
2. Didro Augustin broke the indoor 55m dash record, 6.95 seconds, previously held by 2 of our graduating seniors last year Colin Byrne and Gabe Trexler.
3. Molly Lineberger, in her first indoor meet of the 21-22 season, earned a 3rd place overall medal with her indoor shot put PR of 30-06.75! All 3 throws were over 30’.
4. Belle Lees, Sophia Kovalski, Payton Campbell, Conor Fisher, Holden Brown, Tyler Finck, and Oscar Felegy all improved their times in their respective indoor distance events this season.
5. We had 5 hurdlers compete this past weekend, and 3 of them advanced to finals. Bethany Brown, Hadlee Horvath, and Reagan Breisch advanced to the finals in the 55m hurdles. Of note, this was Reagan’s first race in hurdles in his high school career! Connor Tittermary and Zac Olszewski also raced this indoor event for the first time!
6. Hailey Reinhard won and ran a provisional indoor state qualifying mark in the mile, 5:20.14.
7. The boys 4×400m relay dropped 7 seconds off their time this season including Holden Brown, Blaise Verrastro, Zavier Urbaez, and Tyler Finck.
8. The girls 4×400m relay dropped 6 seconds off of their time this season including Hailey Reinhard, Isabella Scarlata, Payton Campbell, and Addison Shank.
