News and Announcements

With exception of the throws team, the 2019 EHS Track and Field team was announced to athletes on Friday. The throws team will be announced after completion of testing tomorrow, Monday 3/11.

Folders were handed out to those athletes accepted onto the track team on Friday, and the following paperwork is due to Coach Kami by Tuesday, 3/12, no exceptions per school policy.
1. EPSD Acknowledgement Form (salmon-colored paper signed by parent and athlete)
2. Track and Field Handbook Code of Conduct signed by parent and athlete (white stapled packet-cut off last part)
3. Athletic fee of $35 (green form) if athlete has not already paid this school year (Check made out to EHS)

Uniforms will be handed out to all athletes on Thursday 3/14/19, more info to come on the process.

The coaching staff thanks all athletes who tried out for the track and field team this past week.

“The key is not the will to win. Everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important.”

Friday practice will be very light for all, and team decisions will be announced for all events, except for the throws team. Paperwork will be issued to those accepted onto the team that will need to be turned in by next Tuesday 3/12/19.

We hope to assess the throwers by Saturday, or Monday at the latest, depending on the weather and snow melting.

Reminder of practice on Saturday for those who are accepted onto the team. Those who are not accepted onto the team are encouraged to continue to train and join winter track next year in December.

100m trials will be run on Saturday to get a baseline on sprinters who are accepted on the sprints team, as there may still be some question on primary vs secondary event for a few athletes.

10am-12pm practice on Saturday.

Shave for the Brave tomorrow night 5pm at EHS auditorium! Coach Kami, Coach Keeley, Edna Creelman, Cameron Carter, Alex Correa, and Mark Magee who will be going bald, raising $$ for pediatric cancer through St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
