News and Announcements
As much as I was hoping we would be able to start winter track on Monday 12/2, the weather does not look ideal, especially for travel reasons with no school. So, there will no NO PRACTICE on 12/2 and our first practice will be Wednesday 12/4.
Forms can still be turned into Coach Susens room 418, with booster club $. After your forms are received you will be placed on the winter track roster. Attached are names of students who have turned in forms.
Weightlifting will take place on Wednesday 12/4 immediately after school 2:30-3:15pm. Juniors, Seniors, ALL throwers and pole vaulters are eligible to begin weightlifting on this day. Additional students will be added in the weeks to come. The weightlifting schedule will continue through spring track in May.
If you get a message to switch remind groups, it’s due to # of participant restrictions placed now with remind. All messages will be sent out to all remind groups. It’s just a formality, sorry for any confusion or inconvenience.
The coaching staff looks forward to starting the season!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
No school Monday 12/2/19, but we will still hold winter track practice 2:45-4:30 pm for anyone who is able to attend. Dress warm as temperatures are looking cold. Attached is the current roster of students who have turned in intramural consent forms, and are eligible to practice next week. For those who have not, please bring along to practice on Monday, otherwise you will not be able to participate.
I had to create 2 reminds due to number of participant restrictions, so I may have to ask you to switch to our remind #2 group. If so, don’t worry, the same message will go out to both groups.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving break with your friends and family!
We had a great turn out for winter track sign-ups!
Please turn in all paperwork (intramural form and data form)/Booster Club $15 in Coach Susen’s room 418. She also has additional forms in her room available for those who did not pick up today.
I will be reaching out to those students who turned in forms for the first meet, which will be held on Monday December 30, 2019 Ocean Breeze Holiday Invitational.
Of note, students do not have school on the first day of winter track practice on December 2, as it is after the Thanksgiving Holiday. We will still hold practice on Monday December 2, meeting in the sports center at 2:45 pm. Please make sure to have forms turned in by this date, or bring forms along that day.
Remember, winter track is a club, so if you can not make a practice, it’s ok.

See you all soon,
We are thrilled to announce that EPSD has approved the EHS track team to use the HUDL app, which is of great benefit to our team. HUDL is a tool used to evaluate/analyze performances with video. Each athlete will have a HUDL account that can be used for just individual development and/or college recruiting.
We are going to kick off a trial use of HUDL next THURSDAY August 15 at 5:30 pm at the EHS track stadium for any previous track athlete entering this year as a SENIOR who would like to set up an account with some video performances. If you are interested, please contact Coach Kami through Remind text. We will offer trial video of jumps (LJ and TJ), hurdles, throws, sprints, and distance.
Also, if you are in any grade looking to continue track in college, it is recommended to set up a NCSA account (Next College Student Athlete). There are many recruiting sites available, and I have received feedback from coaches and athletes on the pros and cons of a few. This site is free and you can choose to upgrade if you like. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Kami.
Athletes not participating in a fall sport who are interested in a fall season training/weight lifting plan can contact Coach Kami for the EHS track program. We will kick off winter track on Monday December 2. Calendar will be updated by the first day of school.
Enjoy the last few weeks of summer and GOOD LUCK to our graduating Seniors! We will be following your successes….
